Once this application has been accepted, the Participant may then apply for a Residency position.

The Resident Application goes beyond the Participant Application as a way to insure that clients of KPCC who may be seen by the resident will receive high quality and ethical care. The Resident Application has the following components:

  1. A two-page statement from the applicant indicating his or her understanding of KPCC's Mission and a sense of the fit the applicant may have with the Mission as well as with the Center's basic Expectations of Pastoral Counselors at KPCC. Background information is available by request from the Center Director.
  2. A report from a teacher or supervisor summarizing the applicants learning from a previous training experience, such a CPE supervisor's report, or letter of reference from a supervisor detailing the applicant's clinical strengths and growing edges.
  3. A signed Ethical Disclosure Statement, also available from the Center.
  4. A check for the Resident Application fee of $25, which helps defray the cost of the qualifying interview.

The Qualifying Interview is scheduled once a completed Resident Application has been received. The interview is with the Center Director and one or more other Supervisors and is fifty minutes in length. Successfully qualifying as a Resident will allow the clergy person to begin to learn the logistical procedures associated with seeing clients at KPCC. The Director will then assign one or two clients to the Resident, with the goal of the Resident seeing between one and five clients a week.
