Current Needs of the Center

KPCC is currently seeking a clinican applicants with
LiCSW or Lic. Pscyholgist credentials
who feel called to ministry in the areas of:
    working with elders,
    working with children, and/or
    working with couples

Other applicants will be considered.

Submitting a Cover Letter and Resume

As a Pastoral Counseling Center,
we are seeking applicants for clinical positions
who, besides having high clinical competence,
are fairly far along in the process of developing a solid Pastoral Identity.

This usually means being ordained, heading towards ordination,
having had some kind of formal theological training,
and/or having a deep and solid spiritual maturity.

We consider working here to be form of calling to ministry.

A strong resume and cover letter
will address the applicant's sense of Pastoral Identity,
as well as issues related to clinical experience and competence.

A second strength would be the applicant demonstrating an
awareness of and ability to think, speak, and write
from a gender and culturally sensitive Interfaith perspective,
and to work as a part of a trusting team of colleagues.

A third strength would be proven capacity to build a case-load,
be effective with clients, and develop a marketable niche.

Our Expectations and the Interview Process

Our interview process happens over a series of meetings.
The purpose of the interviews is to see if there is a good fit between the applicant
and the mission, values, and norms of the Center.
We usually do not hire people to for a job, we hire because we sense a good fit.

The interview process may include clinical role play or supervision sessions.
We ensure quality be requiring new therapists to audio tape clinical sessions
(with the client's permission) for review with the Center Director in supervision.

Our staff is committed to weekly Case Conference meetings and Clinical Supervision.
These meetings happen Thursday mornings from 9:00am - 12:00noon.

New therapists usually build up a case load slowly and on a part-time basis.
Motivated and effective therapists can be operating at a full-time capacity within a year.
