Psycho-Theological Issues in Counseling Course: Coun 620-603 Workshops on Psycho-Theo Issues Summer Semester 1999 Charles Hendricks, Dmin / Sky Kershner, Dmin Dates: June 11-12, July 9-10, July 30-31 (fridays 5-10, sat 8-5) 3 graduate credit hours or 3 x 14 CEU contact hours Location: Kanawha Pastoral Counseling Center
Purpose The Purpose of the class is to provide student with the opportunity to think theologically about psychological issues in life. Much of the class will be interactive, and will involve a high degree of sharing and spontaneous interaction. Therefore, pre-class preparation as described below is essential. Concrete demonstration of completed reading and written assignments will be expected at the start of each class. Those who have not completed Pre-Class Assignments will be expected to withdraw.
Rationale: This course is a three part workshop with an interactional format that requires the student to do pre-workshop readings. It will deal with some material available in the area of Psycho-Theo issues with an emphasis upon the students ability to enter into discussion with others about these issues.
Competencies: The ability to capture the Psycho-Theo themes of the authors in the texts.
