KPCC has a strong tradition of offering excellent training opportunities for
clergy and other professionals as well as workshops and presentations of interest and
values to churches, organizations and the community.
Doctor of Ministry Program
in Charleston, WV
Every ten years or so KPCC offers a Doctor of Ministry program through a
not-too-far-away theological school. At this time, we
currently have a cohort of 18 DMin clergy students matriculated through United
Theological School in Dayton, Ohio, which is an open-minded United Methodist Seminary.
The course isled by Dr. Sky Kershner and Dr. Charles Hendricks, both are Diplotmates
in AAPC and Approved Supervisors in AAMFT. The theme is "Leadership in
Ministry in the 21st Century." Each learner develops their own project and
is geared towards ministry in whatever setting a person chooses or finds themselves in.
There is a lot of room and flexibility to do your own thing!
The program will take two and a half years to complete, starting with a week in residence
in Dayton (this August, 2003) and finishing with classes and group meetings here in
Charleston on a two days per month basis for eight months each year for the duration of
the program. A very do-able program and convenient because it will be right here.
Courses Include
Biblical, Historical and
Theological Foundations
Leadership Development
Communication
The Church and Societal Issues
Project/Thesis
