Did you know? For the first time ever, the Oxford Dictionaries 2015 Word of the Year was a pictograph. The ‘Face with Tears of Joy’ emoji was chosen as the ‘word’ that best reflected the ethos, mood, and preoccupations of 2015.

The emoji was also selected because, according to SwiftKey, a mobile technology business, it was the most used emoji in the world. The pictograph made up 20 percent of all the emojis used in the United Kingdom and 17 percent in the United States.People like to laugh. We know this. That’s one of the reasons KPCC Counseling brings a comedian to the Dent Dinner fundraiser every October. In addition to raising money for those who cannot afford counseling, we like to bring people together and watch them laugh – with tears of joy.

There are plenty of funny people out there and we need help finding them. Who makes you laugh? We want your input. Collaborate with us! Maybe your favorite performer will be chosen to entertain us and 500 of our closest friends at the KPCC Dent Dinner this year.

SUGGEST A PERFORMER

I don’t know about you, but the ‘Face with Tears of Joy’ emoji has held down the #1 spot on my recently used tab for as long as I can remember. An emojianalysis of my texting habits might suggest….well, let’s just say I have no words.
